Volunteer Opportunities

ONEgeneration VolunTEAMing
because we need each other to succeed.

Everyone has something to give. What about you?

ONEgeneration has had a successful volunteer program for 25 years. As the agency has grown, our community volunteers have grown and expanded along with all of the dedicated staff and members.

ONEgeneration volunteers are valuable to our services because:

  • Volunteer assistance enables the agency to expand services to a broader community;
  • Volunteer opportunities provide meaningful activities for community members looking to contribute time and talent;
  • Volunteer opportunities can provide valuable learning experiences for students.

Without our volunteers, ONEgeneration would not be able to provide the community with quality services such as homebound meal delivery, intergenerational day care for seniors and children, and grocery shopping. Truly, our program would not be what it is today without these amazing individuals. For every volunteer that passes through our doors, something can be given back to the community.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
  • Provide services to homebound seniors such as meal delivery, grocery shopping, telephone reassurance and meaningful interaction. Bring warm food and warmer greetings to the elders of our community.
  • Display your talents! Whether they are in music, dance or even science, our Senior Enrichment Center provides teaching and entertaining opportunities. Everyone has something to give, why not you?
  • Work directly with staff and participants to provide quality services to the community such as intergenerational day care for frail seniors and young children through our adult day care and child care programs.
  • You can even assist the administration with filing and dissemination of materials, the planning of special events, and scheduling within the travel department. The more help we receive, the more we can give back to the community.
  • Participate in the GRANDPALS program. Share your life experiences with the young generation in a classroom setting. From mentoring to storytelling, we have purposeful activities that encourage intergenerational relationships.
  • Sunday morning opportunities include volunteering at the Farmers Market located at 17400 Victory Boulevard in Van Nuys, California, just down the street from the Senior Enrichment Center.

• For safety and security purposes, some volunteer positions require fingerprinting and a TB test.
