Ensuring the safety and well-being of those we serve, ONEgeneration is dedicated to staying informed and providing educational information on all Coronavirus updates. We continue to follow guidelines put out by the CDC , City of Los Angeles Department of Aging (LADOA), and Los Angeles County Workforce Development Aging and Community Services (WDACS).

As of today, ONEgeneration operations will continue as normal with no known reported cases of COVID-19. We understand that our services act as a lifeline for so many, and any disruption will have a detrimental effect on those we serve. We urge all individuals to please stay home if they are not feeling well and avoid public areas.

The CDC is urging individuals to stay calm and Share Facts, Not Fear . Among the CDC’s advice, ONEgeneration would like to advise everyone to:

Stay home when you are not feeling well or sick.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

All ONEgeneration facilities receive concentrated cleaning in frequent touch areas as well as a general cleaning on a daily basis. Our staff have been provided with information from the CDC on how to best protect themselves and their families from COVID-19.

In addition to raising awareness on how to protect yourself and others, ONEgeneration & the National Council on Aging (NCOA) would like to urge older adults to beware of Coronavirus scams. Unfortunately, scammers are taking advantage of fears surrounding the coronavirus. The Federal Trade Commission has identified several of them and is offering tips to protect yourself and others. These include watching for emails claiming to be from the CDC saying they have information about the virus and ignoring online offers for vaccinations. There currently are no vaccines, pills, potions, lotions, lozenges, or other prescription or over-the-counter products available to treat or cure COVID-19 online or in stores.

In the unlikely event of widespread quarantines, ONEgeneration will respond as directed by health officials and will do all we can to ensure resources and services are available for those in need.

Thank you,
